Weird headache / nausea virus - anyone else?

I’ve not felt right for a few days - earlier this week I had 3-4 days of weird breathlessness and dizziness, actually wen to the Dr and was told to increase my asthma inhaler x4 (but all vitals were normal) and keep an eye. This has now 75% improved, but now having these bouts of really bad nausea (proper morning sickness levels!) although not actually been sick so far. Lots of weird tummy noises - akin to possibly needing a toilet dash (although not yet) and on / off migraine type headaches for a few days. Also feel fatigued and somehow just weird and not myself.

Does this sound like a bug anyone else has got?! Misery loves company 🥴🥴🥴😅😅😅

I had a really strange bug about 2 weeks ago. I never - and I mean never - vomit, outside of pregnancy (HG). Think the last time was 2011 after a night of heavy drinking. I felt under the weather on Halloween, then woke the next feeling really strange - deep muscle aches, headache, shivers. Felt dizzy as you describe and nauseated, but I didn’t actually vomit until that night and into the early hours of the next day. Woke up Sunday morning feeling dizzy and weak but not too unwell and was fine by Monday.

Sorry posted too soon. Stomach gurgled and was ‘odd’ for about a week after but ok now. Hope you feel better soon!

Yes two of us have had this in our family, it has been horrendous and taken ages to recover. I’m still not quite right!

CosySeason · 14/11/2025 23:11

I’ve been vomiting since Tuesday. It’s grim but lots of bugs around atm. Lots of DDs friends have the same thing.

I had something like this a couple of weeks ago — coughing and wheezing and feeling “off”, nauseous (though didn’t actually vomit), dizzy, headachy and tired. Lasted a few days - about 4-5 days. Never felt acutely ill but was definitely under the weather (and nausea is very odd for me).

Oh no, so sorry! Hope it clears up soon.

i haven’t been sick (yet) and it takes a lot to make me vomit, so I am hoping I don’t🙏

I had this around 4 or 5 weeks ago- I honestly think it was the latest strain of covid. I'm fine now but was very fatigued . DH was fine as was adult DS- they seem to be immune from it. I could not eat anything - all tasted wrong so I ended up eating toast with plain butter mostly.

TheSaltedCaramelPath · 14/11/2025 23:22

Yes, had that last month after transiting Gatwick.
Every symptom you mention, unusual fatigue, breathlessness, strange headache, severe nausea.
Also sub optimal temperature for 5 days, just could not get warm under 3 duvets.
Recovered quickly.

NCmuvva · 14/11/2025 23:29

Hmm, maybe I should take a covid test🤔

I’ve never (knowingly) had it before!

My son had this with covid a few weeks ago. He threw up a couple of times, bad headache, dizziness, nausea, shivers, temp.

isitmytime · 15/11/2025 00:15

DP had this about 4weeks ago ended up being given a steroid inhaler because it flared up his asthma. Hacking wheezy cough, lethargy, exhausted, nausea, upset stomach it hung around for about 2 weeks and he’s only just started to feel 100% this week. It really knocked him for six. I actually said to him today he was finally looking himself and had colour about his face again.
whatever it is it’s definitely doing the rounds I’ve heard lots of people with similar symptoms

Nutmuncher · 15/11/2025 00:22

Definitely Covid- it’s been rife at work. Some people have had it really bad this time too.

NCmuvva · 15/11/2025 03:24

Urghhhh, I’m awake feeling reaaaaallly nauseous🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢 plus have got awful gut pain / rumbling sensations! No fever so far..

I don’t have a cough really - no hacking or anything to hack, just having these weird breathlessness episodes, they seem to be resolving though (using 4 puffs a day of steroid inhaler). However, it’s now morphed into intense nausea and gut pain!

also would say Covid, I am just recovering from it and it was awful this time, nausea without the sickness, exhaustion, dizzy, runny nose sneezing and coughing. Only tested because I actually thought I had the flu

NCmuvva · 15/11/2025 11:14

Hmm, it’s not Covid! Tested this morning and negative!

I have had this for the last two days, strange headache and fatigue and waves of nausea. If the headache goes the nausea arrives and then the nausea goes and the headache comes back! But I don’t feel sick enough to think I’m ill! Very odd. Feeling so tired…praying it’s just a stupid virus that will go as quickly as it arrives.
