High Back Boosters driving me crazy!

My DC both have a HBB. We‘ve finally reached the age where they can both buckle themselves in properly (don’t worry, I do check!) and unbuckle themselves too.

However, the seatbelt keeps coming out of the router thing on the shoulder. I‘m getting fed up of constantly having to re-route it.

Is there anything I can do to keep it in place? They each have a different HBB so I don’t think it’s a design fault of the particular seat.

Hopeful bump

Are they new? That's really poor design. I've got four HBB from very expensive Cybex ones to cheaper ones from Halfords ones and they never do this?

Is it definitely in properly?

ours has a clip thing that you have to deliberately fold down to get it out of the guide, but if you’re not looking properly then can miss the actual guide.

If they are, I’d bet tempted to get the gaffa tape out and tape over the entry point to the slot.

They are a few years old. Definitely in properly. I‘m over anxious with car seat safety and have read the manuals inside out.

Might have to be gaffa tape then!

Definitely do not tape or add anything! It could interfere with the seatbelt operating.

You might need to look at an alternative and better fitting seat.

How old are the kids? It doesn't sound like the seats are functioning correctly. It's probably too late to do much about it if they're a few years old and you'll need to replace; but it's possible it's a fit issue.

Don't gaffa tape anything. That's not at all safe. There's no point using a HBB at all if you're relying on gaffa tape to hold it together in an accident.
