DD3 is Peppa Pig mad. Has been for a full year now (and recites all the books by heart 🙈). For Christmas, she wants a peppa pig ball… not a ball with peppa on it, she wants the same ball that Peppa has. She also seems unlikely to drop the idea, and is determined that’s what Santa will bring her…

Help!!! There are hundreds of balls with peppa on. But I can’t find a single one that’s white with coloured spots like the ‘real’ one. Has anyone ever come across one? Any ideas how Santa can deliver?

Pic added for reference… and thank you to any and all ideas. She’s given me notice at least!

Can you search for companies that make custom footballs? Then you can could choose the colours

You could get a white football and some leather paint. It's will probably cost about £40 though.

I was going to suggest a very similar thing! That’s probably the closest “off the shelf” option

eBay from USA, expensive from probably not great quality but it would include a couple of spares. Delivery date looks ok fingers crossed.

This is the classical age for home made gifts like this! I ended up making a Cbeebies character out of Daz😂

Dodgy AI image makes me think it would turn up completely different, but it's not a huge amount to spend if it turns out to be awful I guess.

🤣 I used to have to keep fabric paint on hand because my lot would want a pink dog with blue spots and other such awkward things.

My favourite was when dd wanted a toy rabbit with tattoos.

Thanks for all the replies, it’s definitely like a football but ideally would be like the light weight kids balls for damage limitation.

Good idea to look into custom balls, tho it can’t be expensive 😬 if I can find a plain white kids one I’d have a go at a diy version but would still need to be on a budget, if it was a rubber/latex type ball, what sort of paint/pens would work and not rub off?

A ball is such an utterly reasonable ask, yet somehow she can still make it impossible!

Looks pretty convincing… the £12 postage is excessive tho! 😂

I love this… stuff that’s actually special to them!
DS4 is getting a dinosaur house… aka a dolls house that I got free off marketplace and currently re-painting and decorating into the ultimate dino retreat 😂

Yes, also higher risk than I'd like of it not turning up at all.

Hopefully someone else will do better. The little sensory toy ones do look the part.

I am 49 and suddenly want a custom dinosaur retreat 🤩

FreshAirandSunshine · 14/11/2025 00:22

Sticky back plastic in the colour of the spots might be easier than paint.

Thank you, I’ve had a quick look and seems like you can only get one panel customised, unless you order 500 😂 I’m doubtful there’s a business opportunity here…

I have acrylic paint from the dino house! Might be worth a try and see… she’ll definitely want to kick/throw it.

You’re all amazing help as I sit here awake trying to figure a solution without a last minute panic 😂 thank you

Oh that's so cool.

I once did a kind of DIY deconstructed playmat for dinosaurs - a metre of green fabric and other bits and bobs, like a long strip of blue for a river, yellow for sand, brown for mud. Added a few DIY trees, stuck it in a box and he could make a whole landscape. Make mountains from cushions, dino ski run from a hot wheels track because obviously dinosaurs need a ski run.. it was fun

WilfredsPies · 14/11/2025 01:52

I wonder whether acrylic paint would dry without smearing on that shiny surface? I’d coat each hexagon with white Gesso primer (anywhere on line, or Hobbycraft. You don’t need a huge tub, a little bit goes a long way), apply it with a sponge to avoid brush strokes then use Sharpies to colour.

mamansloth · 14/11/2025 02:09

You can buy plain white beach balls easily on the internet. They’d be very lightweight.
And then paint or get some of that sticky back plastic stuff people cover kitchens in! (I can’t remember it’s official name) I saw it in b&q the other day and they def had some pastel shades. You could cut out circles.

sashh · 14/11/2025 03:18

I was thinking a plain white ball with some marker pens / sharpies and a note from Santa, Peppa pig got a white ball and decorated it herself.
