Playmobile Pirate ship

Strange question maybe but does anyone own the 2011-2015 Playmobile pirate ship (5135) ? See picture. If anyone does would it be possible to give me the measurements of the front triangulair sail?

I was given a second hand one for my DS but it's missing the front sail and I can't find a replacement part online anywhere. I found a video explaining how I could make them myself but I need the measurements for the sail.

He is still going to love it without the sail but it would be nice to have. Any help would be so much appreciated.

Have you checked eBay? If you search for that and the number a few listings come up

GreenMeeple · 11/11/2025 17:50

I looked, but when you look at the actual listings the front triangulair sail is always sold out. I guess it one of those parts that always gets lost/broken first.

We used to have that. Such a great toy. Can you not measure the points and work out approximately what size it would be?

GreenMeeple · 11/11/2025 21:45

Yes I checked, unfortunately they dont seem to make parts for this model anymore. To be fair its been discontinued for 10 year.

I do own this! It's currently in a room with a sleeping child, but PM me tomorrow if I haven't replied with the measurements (and you don't get anyone who can provide them sooner).

Fantastic toy, gets brought out every time DS1 has friends over and gives hours of entertainment.

@somuchtobitsis the resident playmobil expert so hopefully she knows. And hopefully I’ve remembered her username correctly!

And it might be worth checking out the european Playmo sites as they have often different spares and sets available.

SoMuchToBits · 11/11/2025 23:04

Sorry, that looks like it's not available, but I'll keep looking!

puddock · 11/11/2025 23:22

Yes I do, I'm looking at it now! It is 11.3 cm along the short, slightly curved side, 18.5 cm along the vertical side, and 25 cm along the side that would be the hypotenuse if it were a right-angled triangle. Excluding the plastic loops which are at 2 corners.
Would it help if I traced it onto graph paper?

Chimneyonya · 12/11/2025 01:28

Really love Mumsnet for this kind of thing ☺️

Pryceosh1987 · 12/11/2025 01:58

You may have to buy a new ship. But you may find assistance with google and ebay.

puddock · 12/11/2025 08:31

The top and front corners attach to fixed points on the ship by the plastic loops on short black clips that are about an additional 2.3 cm long each. The inner corner doesn't have a loop, it has a long black strut thing that clips directly into the sail (and can be fixed left or right). This is 11.3 cm long of which about 1.6 cm overlaps the sail. I guess the black bits are standard spares...
Lmk if other photos or info would be useful, this was an absolutely beloved toy for my now-teenagers - as you can tell because we still have it on display! - so we want to help.
Son #2 points out (after asking "why are you photographing the pirates?") that ships often have contrasting jibs to mainsails so it doesn't even have to match. Good luck!

That's amazing @puddock thank you so much, if you don't mind tracing it on graph paper that would be wonderful help.

I knew Mumsnet was the right place to ask this 😁

Or if you wanted to buy a (second hand) new one @GreenMeeple the second one I linked to is still available, it costs around £11 and around £5 postage (as it is in France) from ebay. Smile

GreenMeeple · 12/11/2025 08:39

@puddock ah posted at the same time 😆

Thanks again, this really helps. I'm sure I can make it work. The black connection things I can get, it's just the sail itself that I will have to make.

Thanks also to your son's.
