Can an 11 year old travel on the bus without a zip card?

Just noticed my daughter has left her zip card in my coat pocket (from when we were traveling on the weekend)
I'm wondering if she will make it to school onkaywithout a zip card or is it mandatory to carry one at all times?

Should be fine, my 11 year old has hers in her blazer pocket but she’s never been asked to actually tap in. At the weekends we’re on and off the buses and she doesn’t carry it at all then.
