Unexplained toothache

I’m miserable and need ideas!
started with toothache which hurts if I eat on the opposite side of my mouth, it’s a throbbing pain which is always there, painkillers do help a bit if I consistently take codeine and naproxen

dentist has removed a filling, drilled into and packed with biodentine but said the nerve is still alive, this was on Friday

the tooth behind it is fine, never had any work
bottom teeth
xrays show nothing at all
my dentist is away now but the biodentine hasn’t really done anything and I think it might actually be the tooth in front of it but it’s impossible to tell

do I go back and see another dentist? They can’t identify it with tapping etc and neither can I Sad

Sounds like an underlying tooth infection I was like this last week pain killers and still throbbing, went to the dentist same as you couldn't pin point exactly where with xrays or tapping and then all of a sudden woke up the next day swollen face and black eye on one side, back to the dentist, was prescribed antibiotics and I need to go back for a root canal next week. Hope you get it sorted soon. I'm day 8 now from the start still slight swelling but pains almost all away.

Yeah I’m on day 7 or so
I keep thinking it either has to stop or reveal itself sometime! Really struggling with the constant pain
