Booking driving test—“put on hold” for booking. Does it work?

We’re trying to book a driving test for DD. When we tried last Monday morning, a message came up that we could “put the test on hold” and the DVLA would book one when it became available. This was direct with the DVLA. It didn’t come up straight away—it was only when we searched a few locations that it appeared. I don’t remember seeing this when we booked her first test. A quick google suggests that it works. Does anyone have experience with this?

Interesting - how does that work though? As they release a week at a time you could get any time/day that week?

I’m not sure how it works. There’s only a couple of posts online about it so I think it’s quite new. I’m going to give it a go this afternoon. Today and last Monday no appointments came up at all and we were on within 30 seconds each time. We
didnt have this problem last time.
