For me it is Disturbed's version of Sound of Silence.

I love S and G version, even though I'm a metal head. I love Disturbed even though Dave Draiman can be a bit of a tool and ha e seen them live about 8 times but this cover is just over produced and overplayed. I think it got them a temporary new following of middle aged women! (No shade at middle aged women, I am one myself, well middle aged plus).but the people I saw at the gigs after this song was realeased weren't Disturbed fans!

Dreams by Gabrielle, and Sleeping Satellite by Tasmin Archer. No idea why anyone would like them.

I've always liked SS and I think Tasmin Archer's voice is very sweet

Not to mention the brilliant Kayleigh!

Not that I ever thought too deeply about it, but I always assumed it was knights 🤣

I pictured a guy riding in on horses dressed in white satin to rescue his lady friend because white satin was romantic or something 🤣

Every day is a learning day.

Yed I always thought it was some trippy 1960s song about Knights and damsels because I hate it, I didn't actually listen to the words properly!😂

TheIceBear · 09/11/2025 19:26

Coldplay. I really don’t understand the scrambles for concert tickets. Boring as f*ck.

War is over (if you want it)

Even those brackets annoy me.

Yes that one makes no sense. So this is Christmas.....another year over & a new one just begun (???)

MrsAvocet · 09/11/2025 19:28

Imagine - John Lennon.
It's one ofvthe songs I'll turn the radio off for.

mathanxiety · 09/11/2025 19:32

Dancing in the moonlight
Wonderwall
The weight
The night they drove old dixie down (not sure if thsts the title)
My summer girl (Beck)
Most of Queen's songs
99% of country music

FastFood · 09/11/2025 19:35

Hey Jude. It's so lazy.
And Hurt, the Johnny Cash version. I really don't see the appeal of this song, and I'm generally ok with Johnny Cash.
Rude boy by Rihanna also.

I hate that version too! It’s a beautiful song totally ruined by that wailing.

The other song I hate is Take On Me by A Ha, can’t stand the stupid video either.

NotMyRealAccount · 09/11/2025 19:36

I love nearly all the overplayed, cheesy or problematic stuff that's been mentioned so far, but I absolutely hate The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face, irrespective of who sings it.

HeadNorth · 09/11/2025 19:38

I like most music and many of the songs people hate have me tapping my feet. The one I really hate that has me switching off the radio is ‘Happy’ by Pharell- I don’t know why it especially grinds my gears but it does. Especially the nonsensical line about being happy ‘like a room without a roof’. I wouldn’t be happy if I didn’t have a roof. It is stupid, twee & annoying. Bah!

Yes to Hey Jude. It is less irritating than Imagine but all that na-na-na-na-na-na-na-ing, and all their advice to the poor boy just adds up to, yeah, cheer up mate.

Oftenaddled · 09/11/2025 19:41

Oh and, I believe that Children are our Future. I mean obviously, and the initial sentiments are okay, but how is this a song and haven't we forgotten about the children somehow by the end of it?

FastFood · 09/11/2025 19:42

Oh and Kiss by Prince. That falsetto drives me mad.

Agree with this. Reminds me of Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman who was listening on a Walkman (so was obviously screeching along, so was meant to sound awful, yet sounded the same).

Also Angels by Robbie Williams. Makes my teeth itch, and is also apparently nicked from another musician.

ShiftingSand · 09/11/2025 19:57

Justacigarette · 09/11/2025 17:15

I don’t believe you. You’re making it up

Me too. Can’t stand it but maybe because I remember it from the 70s and my mother liking Neil Diamond a lot😂
Also hate Build Me Up Buttercup - don’t know who it’s by but yuk awful

DuchessofStaffordshire · 09/11/2025 19:58

Oh, and also anything by the Bee Gees. It pains me somewhat to say that as they have written some great songs over the years but they do sound like The Chipmunks.

ShiftingSand · 09/11/2025 20:06

Forgot to say anything by James Blunt. Just don’t like his voice

ACatAsleepInYourHat · 09/11/2025 20:15

Smokeybacon72 · 09/11/2025 17:41

Any by Robbie Williams but really can't abide Angels, gets on my wick something awful.

Ooh, good choice! That would definitely be No.2 on my list, after Bohemian Rhapsody. Faux-emotional dross of the worst kind.

sugarandcyanide · 09/11/2025 20:15

Omg I love the Disturbed version of sound of silence!

That kpop demon hunters song that was number one recently makes my ears bleed, I hate it! I also hate anything by Abba.

jackbenimblejackbequick · 09/11/2025 20:42

Lady in red - Chris de Burgh
so many 1980s songs did not age well

OttersMayHaveShifted · 09/11/2025 20:44

Zov · 09/11/2025 16:39

Got my bingo card ready for the Taylor Swift bashing. Wink

Really? I don't think there are many people 'can't stand' TS' songs. They are too inoffensive to provoke stromg negative feelings imo.
