Hi to anyone reading. I am needing some advise with motor tics. My 5 year old old keeps sniffing hands, tensing fingers, and scrolling her eyes up and saying they hurt. These are all periodically keep coming and going. Also tonic tics of her bum. I’ve explained all this to the doctor who said have to refer myself to neurodevelopment program. But I need help with all this now because the more wait the more she’s affecting of all this happening numerous times throughout the day. Does anyone also thing these maybe motor tics as I feel. I’m really needing advise

Firstly, has she had a sight test to confirm everything is okay? It’s possible to have tics and also have sore eyes due to straining which are causing some discomfort.

Not much advice I’m afraid, I was really worried when DS developed a very severe facial tic at the same sort of age, especially as he also has AuDHD.

I purposely ignored it and didn’t give it any attention, hoping he wouldn’t get paranoid about it so he wouldn’t focus on it and make it worse. I was hoping he would grow out of it. It did, thankfully, resolve and stopped on its own. He still had an occasional mouth twitch as a teen, but fully gone now as a young adult.
