Someone is in my parking space

Just come back from collecting DD from dance class and a random car I've never seen before is in my space. I live in a semi detached and its not a driveway as such but I'm at the end of the street and it's a lane alongside my house, parking space is a concrete base, shed at the top end of it with a gate next to it going into my garden. So I'd say obvious it belongs to someone.

I've blocked them in but am worried in case they try to reverse and damage the back of the shed. Tbh there's not really any room to get out unless they knock on the door, so im hoping they won't be stupid enough to reverse but am I being petty here?

Not being petty at all, when they come knocking tell them you've had several glasses of wine and can't drive. Or pretend not to be in. They won't do it again 🤷‍♀️

Keep your car where it is, when they knock tell them it's your private land, they will probably just say there's no sign up so didn't know but they won't do it again.

Ive got a feeling it belongs to a friend of my neighbour who lives off to the side - his parking space is next to mine

Given you don’t know when they’ll be back and in case you won’t be in all weekend, I’d probably put a paper in clear plastic under their wiper with your mobile telling them they’re parked on private property and to call you.

DH is back from work and he's told me that the car has moved. I checked and its managed to squeeze out and is now parked in front of the neighbours car, so is obviously a visitor of theirs.
However there's now a new car parked right up behind mine! So im basically boxed in

Oh no! I’m assuming it’s another of your neighbour’s guests? Are you comfortable going over (or sending DH over) to ask about this new car & tell them their friends cannot park there? You really do need to nip this in the bud or they will take advantage.

Are they playing tit for tat

Tweakie123 · 09/11/2025 09:44

If its your neighbour friend and they have done it by mistake i think you have massively overreacted. Our parking spaces arent always clear and visitors are always parking in the wrong spot. I get on with my neighbours tho and a quick text usually sorts it out!

You poked a bear and are paying the price.
