Noorandapples · 05/11/2025 09:33

Donned, flaunted, midriff, clobbered, they're really stuck in a time warp

youegg · 05/11/2025 09:33

Ooh I’ve remembered ‘romp’. Usually three in a bed

'Breaks her/his silence'
Legs for days

Urgh! Breaks his/her silence gives me rage!
It's usually about one day after the news story and most of the time just some random thing they've said that's got nothing to do with the story! Angry

Rowena191 · 05/11/2025 10:05

No-one else ever describes legs as pins. And whatever happened to bonking? Seems to have gone completely out of fashion.

BertieBotts · 05/11/2025 10:11

"Tucking in" to a lunch with "all the trimmings"

PInkyStarfish · 05/11/2025 10:16

‘Jaw dropping figure’ - and then shows a photo of someone with an ordinary figure!

MrsMoastyToasty · 05/11/2025 10:25

"Stepping out" with a "new beau".

Somersetbaker · 05/11/2025 10:30

Cherished, much loved - usually in reference to a business that was so unpopular it's gone bust.

TheAutumnalCrow · 05/11/2025 10:43

‘Leads the stars’ (person walks into a room with others)

‘Sweet nod’ (posts a picture online)

’Fans gush over’ (journalist found a few posts on X or Instagram)

‘Hilarious meme’ (unfunny image)

And any other display pertaining to a woman's body.
Daily mail employing Sid James type journos.

elm26 · 05/11/2025 10:58

“Burgeoning bump” when discussing a pregnant woman’s body. Drives me mad, such an awful word 😂

tobee · 05/11/2025 11:13

People welcoming a baby.

What's wrong with saying "had a baby"?

Mydogisagentleman · 05/11/2025 11:15

Effortlessly. Stylish usually

PastaAllaNorma · 05/11/2025 11:17

Boffin, love rat, stunner

MotherofPufflings · 05/11/2025 11:22

Taking/took to social media
Pop of colour
Mags (sorry)

AgentPidge · 05/11/2025 11:38

Moniker

And Strictly fans "raging" and/or "fuming".

squashyhat · 05/11/2025 12:02

Tresses or locks (hair)

JamesClyman · 05/11/2025 12:03

Vow and varieties thereof.

Except at a marriage ceremony, nobody - except journalists - uses the words "vow", "vows" or "vowed" anymore.

Whiskeyandkittens · 05/11/2025 12:05

Ballooned!

TheAutumnalCrow · 05/11/2025 12:11

Also see:

‘Sun seekers / soaking up the sun’ = anyone on a beach in the summer

‘Packs on the PDA’ = couple photographed being normal on a night out

Edited

In fairness, there are quite a lot of AIBU with people "fuming".

QueenofLouisiana · 05/11/2025 13:19

@TheAutumnalCrow beat me to “a sweet nod”. Drives me mad.

Usually it means that Princess of Wales is wearing a colour that Diana once wore. Since Diana had a lot of clothes, almost everyday provides “a sweet nod” opportunity.
