Would you ask the teacher about this?

Not sure if it would be precious / over the top to ask the teacher about this or not and he’s my first born so no prior experience!

My son is 5, in Year 1. He came home with a scratch on his eye yesterday- nothing major at all but noticeable. He refused to tell us anything about what happened- this is normal however as he never tells us anything about school and just says he won’t tell us anything! He was also in a bad mood as the half term holiday was over and he’s not been loving Year 1 and his new teacher.

Today he’s come home with a graze on his cheek. Again nothing serious but pretty red. Again grumpy and won’t say anything.

Would you ask the teacher or is this just par for the course with boys in Year 1?

I would ask. It might that it happened in the playground and the teacher doesn't know but worth flagging I think.

can’t hurt to ask

Not precious at all! I would ask the teacher what’s happened or to keep an eye on your boy, in case they notice anything. I’d also try to have a conversation with your little one at bedtime.Mine always seems to tell me what’s worrying them then, for some reason.
