I got made redundant in the summer, started a new job 10 weeks ago and they’ve decided they’re reducing head count

I am really sorry. It seems to be happening absolutely everywhere at the moment. Redundancies are currently in progress in my workplace and I've survived the first round but who knows if I'll survive another. People with decent lengths of service are sitting tight in their jobs as it feels too risky to move if there's a chance they'll get a reasonable redundancy payout. Four of my close friends have been made redundant this year, DH at the end of last year.

I don't know what the answer it but it is really shit OP so handhold from me!

Redundancy is absolutely awful. I'm so sorry. I found it helped to take swift action. Get on the job searches, get your CV updated, get your CV out to relevant orgs. Then eat cake.

Yeah I was made redundant after 8 years in the summer but kept on retention, started this new job
they waited for me too!

They may not get rid of you though? They obviously needed you, it's possible they cut back in other areas.

I’ve been made redundant 3 times in the last five years, so really understand how awful it is. What I would say is that it always ends up being fine. It will work itself out. You will get a new job. Even when I was made redundant at 5 months pregnant it was ok and I got a new job! You can do it.

I’ve lost my job? They let me go with immediate effect

Came back to update I had 2 interviews which resulted in 2 job offers
secured the one I wanted and so I’ll only have been out of work for 9 days
