How much fluid do you drink on average per day?

Today I've had 3 x 750ml bottles of water, will probably have 1 more before bed & another through the night.

4 cans of lemon fanta

1 litre of orange juice

And 2 cans redbull

I feel like I'm always thirsty, and I also just really really love lemon fanta.

My friend thinks I drink far too much fluid, this is an average day, some days I drink alot more, but rarely less

Sign of diabetes?
Are you eating?

(I also love lemon Fanta but don’t have four a month!)

Mine is 2 bottles of 2.2litre water, and two cans peso max - so 4-5 litres is. I think yours is fine

I drink 1.5-2l a day. About 1l water, and the rest apple juice/dilute/hot drinks.

You do seem to be drinking a lot more than the NHS recommends.

Bookaholic73 · 03/11/2025 21:50

1 or 2 Pepsi max and 1L of water. A few cups of tea and also an iced coffee.

I eat, not a huge food person but I graze through the day but always have a dinner.

I drink alot of calories too

2 litres of water, some days more when I’ve been at the exercise hard.
Never soft drinks or tea or coffee or any hot drinks.
You do sound like you’re taking in a lot of fluids, I don’t wake in the night for a wee but would do if I were consuming well over 5litres of liquid a day!

Vodka1 · 03/11/2025 21:51

I drink alot of calories in pop I mean. Despite the name I'm actually sober these days :D

Aren't you just continually in the loo? I drink 2 litres a day approx.

Vodka1 · 03/11/2025 21:52

I wake twice a night to pee and have done for years. I'm 34, and can't remember sleeping through the night for at least 5 years

You are consuming far too much sugar and caffeine through your drinks!!

WhoamItoday11 · 03/11/2025 22:00

That's a huge amount of sugar. Diabetes springs to mind with being thirsty all the time and consuming that much sugar. I think you should see a Dr and get a diabetes test. You may be pre-diabetic. If you cut out all that sugar there may be time to prevent it turning into Type 2 Diabetes.

That's really interesting. I was in hospital earlier this year with a blood clot in my stomach, they checked my blood sugars a few times during my stay (1 week), and I had daily blood tests, would it not have shown up then?
