Tooth extraction consent

Just a quick one if anyone works in NHS or would have any clue as I’m now panicking.

Ds 14 needs braces and is booked in for a tooth extraction under GA, I unfortunately have just started a new job and have some exams I need to take in the morning, so I arranged for my Dm to take him and I’ll be there in time to meet him in recovery and take them home, however I have just read a letter they sent and it said
“Only a parent (who is named on the child's birth certificate) or a legal
guardian with parental responsibility can come with the child and give consent
for their treatment.”

I know it’s kind of stating the obvious, but do you think they would allow her to attend? I’ve already signed the consent forms so she will just be there until I am able to. The appointment is first thing so I won’t be able to call and check with them nor am I able to change exam dates otherwise I won’t be able to get the qualification needed to continue working.

Could you write and sign a letter for them to take?

I could write a letter, I cannot believe I didn’t see that part in the letter
