Gogglebox - weird disembodied hand hand

Did anyone else spot this on Gogglebox this week? I can't stop rewatching it, it's so odd.

I did wonder if it was some sort of Halloween gag, but it would have been a pretty inappropriate time, as they were talking about DIY SOS which involved a very sad story.

I can't find anything online to suggest that anyone else noticed it. Basically as she was talking, a random hand slid out of the cushion and then straight back in. I was going to post a video clip, but not sure how to, so just have a photo. It was right at the end of the segment about DIY SOS.

I find the disembodied feet more alarming

Ha ha! It's just so odd, I presume some sort of editing glitch, but everything else looked completely normal so I don't know how that could happen.

ooh that’s weird

Im glad you didn’t post the video. The photo is creepy enough! 🎃

I didn't notice that! Just looking at his feet next to the cakes is making me feel ill though.

No5ChalksRoad · 02/11/2025 06:09

Isn’t it just some decorative Halloween cushion?

Theextraordinaryisintheordinary · 02/11/2025 06:12

It is part of the fabric on the cushion

It really isn't. It may look that way in the still photo but if you saw the actual footage, it is unmistakably a hand that slides out of the cushion.

Could it be an animated fake hand?

I don't know, but as I said, it would be an odd time to use some sort of joke prop given what they were discussing at the time.

I wonder if she inadvertently triggered the mechanism.

Figcherry · 02/11/2025 07:05

In the photo it looks like a pink washing up glove to me.
I haven’t seen the footage.

YoungMacDonald · 02/11/2025 07:11

Yep, I saw this and watched it back to try to make sense of it but it was still a creepy hand shooting out from the cushion.

FootyMcFooty · 02/11/2025 07:46

Hard to know without seeing it. Does she acknowledge it or totally miss / ignore? Is it possible that it’s AI and not her talking?

SyntheticFluff · 02/11/2025 08:39

It was a glitch. You can see a second before that Sue's hand dips down towards the cushion and the tips of her fingers are cut off, then the fingers appear to be coming out of the cushion. It wasn't a fake hand or anything.

Thanks, that's what I was thinking. I'm curious to know how it could happen though given that everything else in the scene was completely normal, i.e. nothing seems to have "skipped" or to have been out of time in any way.
