Science Museum pre book??

I haven’t been to the science museum (as in the one next to the Natural History Museum) in about 6/7 years. I’ve never prebooked before but the website is strongly advising it. I have no idea what time I’ll get to and across London. Does anyone know how necessary prebooking is? I’m aiming for Monday so hopefully not a mega busy day

Monday after school holiday could be a teacher training day for many so potentially busy.

Monday is half term still in some neighbouring counties, so I would book.
Outside of school holidays you're usually fine though.

They aren’t too strict about checking the tickets. I wouldn’t overly worry about the exact time. Even in school hols I’ve been surprised before….booked and visited NHM and then seen no queue for Sci museum so we’ve popped in there too!

If they have room they let you in anyway if you miss it. But think it depends how busy they are? Edited to add, I've always been let in at the 'wrong' time so far!

I think the bulk of one week half terms were last week but we're a two week half term area. Fingers crossed not too busy for you
