New Covid Strain

MarmaladeSandwich7 · 31/10/2025 16:31

Has anyone had odd symptoms? My legs have gone like jelly out of the blue. I started with a throat infection which turned into a cold. My throat is completely better but the cold symptoms seem to come & go.

I thought I was over it then blacked out in bathroom and broke two bones in my foot. Have friends who have been really unwell with it. Very flu like symptoms

I had it in late September but not terrible. Very sore throat, sore upper chest, cold symptoms, a bit fluey, but sofa not bed. It lasted 5 days , although it was 7 before I was completely back to normal. I have asthma and lung issues , and was waiting for my annual Covid vaccine, so I wasn’t protected. If I recovered that quickly, either it affects people differently, or there are a couple or more strains circulating.

Thing is there are so many viruses at this time of the year that you could have anything. Without testing we will never know

Presumably the people who are saying they had COVID are testing.

I wouldn’t test anymore because I’m not paying for a test for a wee stick thing to tell me stay in bed and keep it till it’s better

Yes I have just had Covid - I happened to have a test handy so I know unequivocally that that is what it was. It started off with a couple of days of the absolute worst sore throat (but no other symptoms) and then morphed into a mild cold. Only unusual symptoms were affected taste buds, sluggish fatigue, and a headache if I pushed myself too hard. I felt like I had to take regular breaks to lie down but was otherwise ok. All resolved by 10 day mark.
