Help me get my life together

I start a new job in a few weeks but feel like a mess right now.

Current job is not great & my sleeping pattern is all over the place. Probably the worst it’s been where I’m awake at night but nap on/off after work. I think I’m running off adrenaline!

I’m falling behind on odd jobs around the house. Haven’t been eating much lately, need to sort a food shop. Loads of life admin, emails etc to respond to.

Not sure where to start to tackle all this and be on the ball for new job! Ideally I would have had a break between jobs to properly recharge and feel more like myself, but I won’t be able to do that.

So first don’t worry about sleep - napping after work now is fine and there is some really interesting research about the feeling of insomnia and how that matter more almost than the actual sleep - ie don’t worry because it’s the worry not the lack of sleep that might be your problem

odd jobs - the only ones that matter are things like - repair a gutter to avoid damp . Most odd jobs can stay on the to do list for decades. Make a list then you know it’s in the queue to be done. Star the ones that are actually inmportant

ditto life admin - sit down and work through what you can in an hour - but prioritise those that are legally required . Other people’s birthdays are not for example

priorities - good healthy food and getting outside for half an hour each day

the lists you have made of things that you want to get on top of should remind you that you are focussed on looking after yourself first as you should be and the other things are less important than you
