Are we really only washing them at 30°?

I will be the first to confess that I really don't understand how they work - how they know what is blood and what is water (see also, period swimwear) but I can't see how 30° will get them clean.

Does anyone have an answer? I say this as I watch my wash go round at 60 hoping they don't shrink!

No I bung them in on what ever was in doing, usually 40 or 60. I don’t tumble dry them though.

You shouldn’t wash blood stained things at high temperatures, the proteins will cook and then cause permanent stains.

I wash mine at 30 and they always come out clean

cold rinse cycle and then in with whatever load you are about to wash anyway.

Pop ours in the normal wash at 30. No pre wash. And they're fine. Don't tumble dry, it seems to wreck their absorbency

As above 30 degree wash and they don't smell at all/completely clean. Best investment we ever made. No more smelling like toilet duck thanks to the weird perfumes the plasticy pads are doused in and no dry uncomfortable bleached cotton shoved up the foof leaching toxins into the most delicate area.
