Vinted seller deleting item and relisting it every day at a different price

I favourited a dress on Vinted. It disappeared from my favourited item within a few hours but then reappeared on Vinted for sale £15 cheaper. I favourited it again. It disappears again and later I saw it listed again for more than the original price. Then, the following day it’s back down to the discounted price.

Rinse and repeat. It’s just done the same thing again. It’s definitely the same listing (same photos, same selling account). What is the seller doing??

Can't you just buy it rather than just add it as a favourite? Don't know how vinted works really but if it's what you want at the right price, just go for it.

goodnightssleepbenice · 29/10/2025 23:05

That’s so weird ! And I’m totally clueless , makes no sense !

AlphaApple · 29/10/2025 23:13

I might buy it if it’s listed for long enough! But it’s pretty common on Vinted to favourite something to consider properly later.

I've watched too much Elementary so I think it's a signal to someone. That price will mean something else to the person who is keeping an eye on it.

ElizabethsTailor · 29/10/2025 23:16

I’m guessing it’s not really a dress the seller is advertising. Is there anything unusual about the description?

theunbreakablecleopatrajones · 29/10/2025 23:18

Maybe it's a cry for help

Woah! Does this really happen or is it an urban myth?

Oh good, it's not just me 😂

Also, is there anything else in the picture of the dress? That would be too obvious though. It's got to be the price.

make notes of them in case it's a map coordinate!

If you try to buy it, I bet you can't

AlphaApple · 29/10/2025 23:23

No unusual description…

I'm intrigued now. Is this some kind of John le Carre messages thing? Russian spies? Drug sales? Give me a clue..

Shutuptrevor · 30/10/2025 00:06

I reckon they’re keeping it in newly listed and messaging their lover through the chat.

Or they’re just flaky.

Watch Elementary and you'll find out 😂

it's a great show - the evolution of the friendship between Holmes and Watson is a joy.

FlamingoFloss · 30/10/2025 00:08

Can you post the link here? We all need to see it now!!

starfall1 · 30/10/2025 00:20

Maybe it's from a professional seller and they have multiple (same) items. Only list one at once to avoid being classified as "professional"

HeavenInMyHeart · 30/10/2025 06:30

They have 115 very good reviews. Likely just deleting and relisting to try and get it sold.

NotARealWookiie · 30/10/2025 06:34

If you drop the price on something it’s better to take it down and relist it as it’ll appear higher up in people’s searches and be recommended to people who’ve sold similar. If you just drop the price it stays low down. I do this if I do a price drop and it works well.

If you want the dresss just buy it or send an offer.

AlphaApple · 02/11/2025 15:09

She’s done it again… fifth time at least now.

Right. Admit it. Who's just bought it?

AlphaApple · 02/11/2025 16:17

No one! It’s back up: https://www.vinted.co.uk/items/7461872660-kate-spade-black-mini-dress

Ffs just buy it or get over it

Pouy · 02/11/2025 16:32

It’s to try and get on the fyp which is mostly brand new listed stuff I think? I see a lot of sellers I follow do this
