Obviously transfiguration is learning to change one thing to another but how complex
can that be and does that mean charms is just pretty much any other spell?

Transfiguration is changing one thing into another, charms are general spells that are not transfiguration, eg making object fly, sing, dance etc

Charms give like an ability or a certain behaviour. So Lumos is light. Accio summons an object. Wingardium Leviosa makes things float. Reparo repairs things. Charms would be my favourite class I think.

I always wondered when they learnt maths
