one of those ‘you could win a house’ comps came up recently and I’ve decided to put a ticket on.. but it’s got me thinking about how it would completely and utterly change our lives.
if we won we can either take the house, or take £500,000 tax free cash. I’d pick the cash:
We currently live in a shared ownership house, have two loans and other various bits of debts, phones, klarna, credit cards ect. Currently with the prices of food gone up over the last couple of years, my mental health took a huge tumble recently so I decreased my working hours, nursery fees have gone up.. it’s all got on top of us and we really struggle to make ends meet every months. We have no savings, Christmases and birthdays make me feel sick these days as I don’t know how we can afford them.. and this £2 ticket could completely change our lives for the better.
We’d sell up this house and get our deposit back (roughly £50k) that we could just wang into savings. We’d be able to buy a nice family home outright and have no mortgage. Pay off all of ours debts and given we’d not have a mortgage, we’d never need to have a loan or pay later ever again. I wouldn’t dread DD asking for a class party like her friends because I can’t afford bouncy castles, DJ’s, goody bags ect.
i know the chances of winning it are quite literally slim to none, but my stomach hurts at the sheer possibility of it.
