In London with teen, thought it looked fun, he likes to go up things with views. It's it good or underwhelming? .

I haven’t been but the sky garden is free- book in advance - I imagine also a great view

We enjoyed it, there is the wow factor of popping out the top!

It's great fun - definitely not underwhelming!

I've been twice, once with a friend when it first opened then back again with DGD who was about 13.

When you're queuing there's an inter-active exhibition and historic iconic timeline photographs to keep you interested whilst you wait. Then you go into an immersive-type room to experience the furnaces - haven't explained that bit well!

The ascent in the lift is an experience in itself with everyone 'wowing' then when it pops out the top there's a big collective 'WOW!'.

The lift in the chimney at Battersea Power Station is great fun. You kind of pop out of the top - and it’s glass all the way round so the views are fantastic. I met my sister there (she lives in that direction); we did the mini museum and lift, wandered round the shops and had lunch in Wagamama’s.

I'm the one in my family who loves to go up things for the views!

I've also taken the DGC up the Sky Garden, and twice up The Shard. The Shard is fantastic - I love the building itself.

It's alright. The acsent is fast, and the view is interesting but not full of icons (being quite far west along the river). Also you only get a few minutes "popped out" the top, then you descend again. You don't even get out of the lift so you have no choice on how long to stay and look.

If you can get sky garden tickets I would recommend that, a bit more of a satisfying view.
(ps the Art Hotel at Battersea Power Station has a rooftop bar so that a decent option for nice views too. Not the same but free/ the price of an an expensive drink)

There’s an Apple Store at Battersea Power Station. Apple do bookable free demos of their products eg Vision Pro which seems to be popular with teens. Also a nice ice cream shop almost next door.

Yes, it’s fun. We all enjoyed it. We went on the early bird offer - got 20minutes at the top and a drink included. My teen boys also enjoyed shopping in Transformers Shop.

The garden at 120 Fenchurch Street is also free if you like going up things. Not quite as high as the Sky Garden but a shorter queue. They’re also near each other so you could do both! And Battersea Power Station!

I’ve been told it’s not very good because you don’t stay at the top very long.

Floisme · 29/10/2025 19:13

I thought it was pretty good but you didn’t get a lot of time there

pumpkinscake · 29/10/2025 19:39

Thanks all
