Has anyone experienced borderline changes, I’m so scared . I have to go have a colposcopy .

Yes, I have had multiple abnormal low grade smears due to HPV. Each time I have been to colposcopy where they have taken biopsies but they have only wanted to monitor every 12 months so far.

I haven't but I didn't want to read and run. It must be a horrible waiting game but at the moment you don't know if anything sinister is wrong and if there is at least it will be treated instead of leaving it. When do you have your follow up?

That is rotten luck, op. I hope this turns out to be a false alarm for you.

I had a colposcopy a few years back & had LLETZ treatment the same day. They hadn’t explained in advance that this was a possibility but it was fine. I was able to drive home and all
was normal other than a month of abstinence. They did an extra check maybe the year after and now I’m just on the normal smear test schedule.

I had this and got put on a cancer pathway. It turned out to be CIN1 and agreed to monitor. Had gone within 6 months. Its very common. Best of luck

I tested positive last year just before I was due a hysterectomy, they rushed me in for colposcopy and biopsy, during the procedure I was told it looked like I had possible CIN2/3 so they continued with biopsy, I was terrified as I was already booked for emergency hysterectomy for possible uterine cancer. My results came back 3 days before more surgery and were negative (not even CIN1) so my surgery went ahead. I was given the all clear for uterine cancer 4 weeks after my surgery and given the all clear for HPV after 6 months.
