Day 1 of lowish carb and I can’t believe how I feel.

I spent the morning craving toast, then just food in general. I had a few nuts and a miso soup for a very late breakfast (thought I’d combine it with intermittent fasting) then I had a late lunch.
Normally by now, I’m flaked out after work and then cooking dinner but I actually have energy!
Ive been cleaning the kitchen and made 2 dishes. Then cleared out the fridge.
Im really shocked.

Day 1, give it a few days and see how you feel.

I've had to cut carbs as I found out I was within pre-diabetes levels 18 months ago. Alongside that, I've upped exercise. The most energetic exercise class I do is Clubbercise at 9am, and I do it on berries, nuts and low fat natural yogurt - previously I'd have had a bowl full of cereal and have been topping up on something else just before a class.

One thing I would say is that if you're cutting down on carbs, make sure you're getting enough energy (unless you're doing it to lose weight). I lost 9lbs weight reducing carbs and sugars (oh and trying to keep saturated fats down due for cholesterol) (I really didn't need to I was 7st 10lbs).

I'm 59 and feel healthier and more energetic than I have every done.

I’m doing lowish carb so I’m cutting right down on bread, pasta, rice and grains. I’m not cutting out any veg or lentils/pulses and will have some fruit.
I think it’s quite sustainable and hopefully I’ll lose weight as I need to lose some.

Hopefully it works for you going forwards.

I feel dreadful on low carb but I have various health conditions and my body can't seem to cope without carbs in my diet even while eating a lot of fat. It's frustrating but I try and limit as much as I can and up my protein and fat.

I think it's one of those approaches that work for some but not all.
