Help me find a decent bed please

I am looking for a decent but less expensive bed. Probably slatted rather than divan.

I want to be able to order it and get immediate delivery rather than wait 6 weeks. A week or two is fine.

I just don’t know where to start. Dusk, Benson, Bed world, Best Bed, Dreams…by

it’s not really over complicated as it’s just a spare bed for guests so needs to be decent, comfy but not the sort of bed I would buy for myself.

any views and options on where to look?

We've had our slatted oak bed for a few years . We purchased from a local bed company and they delivered it the following week
Maybe have a look around locally to you and speak to them about their delivery timescales .

A google search, if you narrow parameters, size, style, will give you a photo list of beds
a lot of places sell the same stock

the less expensive beds are usually self assemble

Or go out and have a look, showrooms do give deals if you are looking like you will walk out the door

IKEA might be an option

or if it’s only for occasional use, Facebook Marketplace

Hi. I looked on brand alley before but it’s always a brand I don’t know. And they don’t have reviews. I’m a bit concerned they’ll be terrible

I’d look for local companies. Bought my last two from a local shop and just ordered my DC a single version of a double I bought for my DS as it’s good value. They will usually deliver quicker too.
Some of the prices in the big name shops are eye watering.
I’d avoid Ikea. The only one I slept on was truly awful and they’re slightly different sizes.

How much would you pay for a decent quality no frills bed and mattress?

@bumbaloo It depends where you live in the country I think. Further south I’d expect it to be more but we’re up north.
DS’s double divan (no drawers) with mid range mattress and headboard was £200 delivered. A cheaper mattress would have cost less. He’s away at Uni so didn’t need an expensive one. He says it’s comfy.

I was in a similar position recently and ended up ordering from Belsogno Beds. They had a good range of bed frames without the really high prices, and delivery was much quicker than some of the bigger chains I looked at. Might be worth adding them to your shortlist if you haven't come across them yet. Belsogno Beds
