Any dentists out there?

Hi,

I was wondering if there were any dentists who could give me some advice.

About a month ago I had a small crack behind my middle bottom tooth and it was filled by a dentist as an emergency appointment. I went back a week later and had it smoothed out as it felt very rough and was hurting my tongue. The dentist also filed down the filling as he said it was a bit high.

Since then I have not felt right. My teeth feel fine when I am lying in bed but during the day my bottom teeth ache and my mouth is constantly watery and I have more saliva than normal. It doesn’t feel like the filling is too high. It feels like the tooth next to the one which was filled is hitting the top tooth first and that tooth aches sometimes. I don’t know whether this was the case before though.

I have a dentist appointment next week but can’t work out whether this is all in my head and I am just very sensitive to changes in my mouth or whether there is a problem. It is really getting me down, especially the saliva as it has been a month now.

Any advice welcome. I’m worried the dentist is going to either laugh at me and say everything’s fine or tell me I need something done which will make things worse.

Thanks!

I have this sometimes and think it’s like a secondary nerve pain.

So does it go away eventually?

I don’t think the hypersalivation and the tooth /teeth issue are linked OP. So I would try to separate those.
To be clear, are you talking about a lower incisor here ? And could you confirm if you have TMJ issues?

Yes it’s the 2 lower incisors which ache. The one with the filling behind and the one next to it.

Symptoms are aching teeth, feeling that my teeth don’t fit together properly when not lying down.

I have also had headaches but don’t know if this is related.
