Local Freecycle offer

Somebody on my local Freecycle group is actually offering a tv that might be suitable for a blind person. That’s because the back light doesn’t work so the screen is dark but the sounds ok! Surely it’s got to be a joke? They also say they’ve bought a new tv so the person can take away the broken tv in the box the new tv was delivered in.

Some people collect broken electronics from freecycle as they enjoy trying to fix things up. I have a friend whose hobby is fixing old broken games consoles and then doing custom paint jobs on them once he's got them working.

Somebody with electronics skills could easily fix that and sell it on

There’s that, and then marketing the item as ‘possibly suitable for a blind person’. That’s got to be a joke, surely? Nearly spat out my tea.

Probably someone sick of having people not reading it properly and realising that it's broken. Whenever I offered something on freecycle I'd get a ton of messages from people asking questions that were answered clearly in the post already like size and colour.
