Vinted cancelled orders

In the last week I’ve placed three orders for something on vinted and all of them have cancelled as they’d “forgotten they’d listed the item and since got rid of it”
why are sellers doing this so much? Anyone else had the same?

Yes.
I now check how long something has been listed for and if it is more than a couple of months I don’t bother with it.
People are very annoying.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 26/10/2025 07:27

Its because the listings don't expire like they do on ebay and Vinted don't encourage relisting as they want people to buy their bump/spotlight products.

Funnywonder · 26/10/2025 08:00

I’ve had this happen a few times. It’s very frustrating. At least you’re given a timescale for when the item should be dispatched. If it gets to the day before the deadline, I usually send a friendly nudge asking if they will be able to post it. One seller was very apologetic and admitted she couldn’t find the item in her Vinted pile, so like pp I have started checking how long things have been listed for. If it’s long enough to get buried in a pile, I don’t bother.

Maybe people are clearing out before Xmas and dumping their stuff?

Shoecamp · 26/10/2025 09:46

yes I guess it must be old listings. What I’ve found most annoying though, is the sellers have waited til the final day for posting (which is v generous anyway) to then tell me they can’t send it. If I was giving the benefit of the doubt, maybe they’ve spent a week looking for the item, but I doubt that happened in all of my three cases

They've probably been looking for it.

On the flip side I’ve just sent something I put up a year ago. If you’re not a prolific seller then it can happen.

On a side note though, it should be easier to take a post down as a seller…I’m not sure I’d know where to start!

Allswellthatendswelll · 26/10/2025 09:50

Yes it's happened to me twice recently and one thing was a costume I needed for DS for a party so very annoying as then I'd run out of time. I really like to buy second hand but it is annoying!

There should be a feature where you can choose for it to be unlisted if it hasn't sold in a certain amount of time. Unless there is?!

ThirdStorm · 26/10/2025 10:11

Anything older than 2 months and I either send an offer (assuming if it’s accepted the item is available) or if it’s already a low price I ask if it’s still available now.

ibuprofenhead · 26/10/2025 11:28

I’ve had this happen three times in the last two weeks. Really annoying.

If you go to the listing in your profile you'll see 3 dots in the top right hand corner. It should give you the option to edit or delete.

LilyRose88 · 26/10/2025 11:46

If I like something that has been listed a long time ago, I usually message the seller to see if it is still available. I tend to donate items to my local charity shop if they don't sell after a while on Vinted, and I think quite a few sellers do this. If they have a lot of items for sale, it must be easy to forget to delete items.

BernadetteJune · 26/10/2025 11:54

I had this happen once and just accepted that that is just the way it is. I think it is a case of "you win some you lose some". It is still worth using Vinted, I feel as I have got some great bargains which I have worn a lot.

Plump82 · 26/10/2025 12:01

I'm rapidly going off Vinted.

For this reason and for buyers not picking up their parcel. Most recent one I could see she'd been online so dropped her a wee reminder which went unread. Item was returned to me except it now looks like it's been lost. And nothing happens to the buyer! There should be the option of bad feedback or auto feedback saying item wasn't collected.

LlamaNoDrama · 26/10/2025 12:23

I had this happen too. Saying that I bought two things this week that had been listed for a while.

CreepingCrone · 26/10/2025 12:38

I've had a few of these. The last thing was cancelled in the last day to post it. The seller than relisted it, didn't reply to my message, and then sold it to someone else. Very weird and annoying!
