I want two cartilage ear piercings should I have them done at the same time?

Im off to get a snug piercing done (so the one mid way up and the one at the top on the pic, when it uploads)

I know the snug is meant to be fairly spicy. I've had a flat before and it's not too bad, but either way, I won't be sleeping on that side for a while!

Would you have them done at the same appt?

I don't know, I love them but I'd be worried of how much it might hurt to sleep on them while healing. I always turn from side to side in my sleep. So maybe do one at a time.

pinkyredrose · 24/10/2025 12:29

I would, it'd get it out of the way instead of prolonging the healing.

Get yourself a piercing pillow to help you sleep. It is like a donut with a hole in the middle to put your ear in when you sleep. Sorry, I don't know the answer to your question!

In the same ear, yes I would. If it was one each ear I'd say hell no as sleeping would be awful.

It won't hurt too much more and you'll only have to go through the healing process once.

TomatoSandwiches · 24/10/2025 12:31

Depends if your piercer is happy to, tbh I always take their advice on these things.

MyrtleHannigan · 24/10/2025 12:33

Same ear, I should have said!

The recommended maximum is 3 (the more you get, the harder and longer they take to heal). As you probably experienced with your flat, it can take a year or so to heal and that is without any change of jewellery.

Couldn’t agree more with piercing pillow! I bought one from Amazon, which has a removable zipped cloth cover and allows you to wash it / add or remove filling as needed.

NotEnoughRoom · 24/10/2025 12:38

In the same ear, yes, if your piercer is happy to. Deffo get a piercing pillow though - life changer!!

Anythingyousay · 24/10/2025 12:46

Yes, I had similar to these two done at the same time. It hurt but at least it was all in one go and all on one side.

Brelim · 24/10/2025 13:06

I got mine done together. It gets it over with. Mine have taken ages to heal so much better to get both out of the way.

Runningismyhappyplace50 · 24/10/2025 13:08

In the same ear, yes I would and have. As PPs have said, get yourself a piercing pillow!

GinGenie · 24/10/2025 14:34

I got my tragus pierced on Tuesday and I'm shocked at how little it's hurt since, so in your shoes I would get the 2 done at the same time
