Halloween Party Games

We’re hosting a Halloween party next week for adults and children. I have a few games planned already, but if anyone has any tried & tested party game ideas, I’d be most grateful. Children are all mostly 10 to 12. Thanks!

One we often do is the mummy game, x amount of children per adult, several rolls of toilet paper per group - they have until end of a Halloweeny song/s to turn their adult into a mummy, best one wins a prize.

Big bar of chocolate, put it in the fridge. When it’s time for the game get a dice and start rolling . When you get a six, you have to put a hat, scarf and gloves on then eat the chocolate with a knife and fork. Meanwhile the others keep taking turns to try and roll a 6. When they do - you take of the hat, scarf and gloves and give to them. Repeat until the chocolate is eaten!

Hang ring doughnuts from the ceiling, one for each player. Winner is the first one to eat the donut with hands behind their back. If the donut falls you’re out.

Fill a bowl with flour, tip it out so it’s a nice white semi circle and place a jelly sweet on top. Take it in turns to slice a bit of flour off with a knife. Loser is the one who collapses the flour.

Apple bobbing obv!

Flour and smartie game - make a sandcastle out of flour (use a jelly mould or bowl to make it) and place a smartie on top. Players have to cut a slice of the sandcastle off without knocking the smartie down. Like Jenga rules - one slice each, first one to topple it loses.

Cereal box game - how low can you go - players have to pick up an empty cereal box from the floor with their teeth, no hands and only feet touching the floor. Cut an inch or two off the box every round. Good for bendy excitable kids!

centurions - two players at a time, place a cushion on one flat hand and a rolled up newspaper sword in the other, and you have to knock each other’s cushion down. No hugging it into your body - flat hands only! Knock out tournament

Apple bobbing. We used to do one as children where you had to try to eat an apple suspended on string from a doorway with your hands behind your back. . For extra fun, the suspended apple is on a nail at one end of a stick and a lighted candle is on the other. You have to avoid setting your hair on fire while eating the apple. The flour game as described by a pp.

Thank you so much, everyone. There’s some on here that we had already planned (particular shout out to the flour game as I didn’t think that was a very well known one, but we love it), but lots more to try out too.

Things In Boxes that they put their hand inside to guess ( lyches, carrots with Rice crispies glued on, mashed potatoe , cold pasta ....then your hand to grab them Grin )
