Anyone following the story of Bonnie Leigh - fake pregnancy etc

This has happened quite locally to me

A young woman has faked a pregnancy and birth and fooled everyone with a fake baby until it was discovered to be one of those life like dolls after 5 days! She then tried to claim the baby had died.

She is being absolutely vilified and the police have been called. But I think it is really quite sad and there are clearly issues there and she just needs help.

I keep coming across AI videos on TikTok so I’ve no idea what’s true and what’s misinformation at the moment. Apparently she deleted all of her social media.

There must be something very wrong upstairs for her to go that far with it. There’s no way she thought no one would notice.

I know them. I just feel sorry for them all, they’ve had a lot to deal with over the years.

There’s stories of her having done this before and having faked cancer. Who knows. It’s totally fucked up.

I just can’t get my head around it. I do think it is all very sad!

I hope she gets some help.

Yes I've been following this case. But at least she used a doll and didn't take someone else's baby. I agree she needs help.

I really feel for everyone involved, including her. Clearly some serious issues and I hope the high profile nature of this results in some help for her and not just mocking and vilification.

i just think she is just evil surely the partner knew full well some people are just scammers etc doesn't mean they have the mh card to play

It’s absolutely bonkers. I expect the full truth probably won’t ever really come out regarding who knew what and when. I would argue her alleged history of this exact lie and the cancer story would indicate a far higher likelihood of mental health problems surely? No one of sound mind would a. think this was a reasonable and believable lie and b. would repeat it more than once!

She’s obviously very unwell. It’s desperately unethical how much she is being dragged online.
A young lady local to me did a very similar thing and thankfully ended up being sectioned, and then ruled as having no capacity. Luckily (ish) for her she didn’t have her name and photo strewn all over the internet, so can at least live her life privately.
