Losing function

I have a number of conditions but one damages the joints and overstretches the tendons. This has happened in both feet, ankles, wrists and hands.

It's my hands which are causing issues. I'm losing function. I have fused thumbs but now my other fingers are being affected. I cannot stop it. The treatment is surgery when things break.

How do I come to terms with losing the use of my hands? It means being reliant on more people. Work is harder. Home life is harder. I'm losing my independence in my early 40s.

Anyone experienced this before or has anyone got on suggestions to come to terms with it?

Have you had a referral to occupational therapy, they will help you with adaptations.
