My kids are 8 and 10. Can't go an hour without saying six seven. I don't know how they know about it. They made me take a photo of them outside house number 67 on a walk the other day. We weren't this annoying as children were we? I blame the internet for this.

@Blueuggbootsoh I miss twennny one! What’s 9+10? Twennny one😅

I didn’t mind skibidi and I can just about tolerate Italian brain rot, but for some reason 67 really, really annoys me!!

CagneyNYPD1 · 21/10/2025 12:09

I went to an uni open day at the weekend. In their accommodation village, many of the student flats use a large amount of post it notes in the windows for decoration etc. I saw evidence of 6 7. These are 18/19 year olds. But it’s just a fad, like Skibidi was last year.

UneasyMe · 21/10/2025 11:55

This is incorrect 🫤

Well what is it then? Never heard of it.

Contraryjane · 21/10/2025 12:13

My nephew used to walk round shouting “Man U”. He didn’t know what it meant.

Wait until they start the screeching labubu one.

Person 1 : Labubu
Person 2: Labu labu
1: Labuuubuuu
2: Labuuuuuubuuuuu

OMG i could scream!!! and they do it in a weird whiny creepy voice 😫

FurForksSake · 21/10/2025 12:15

It’s from a skrilla song where skrilla has not defined what it means. It could be police code or a street. It was then turned into a meme by a kid at a basketball game as the song was often played over basketball videos on social media.

So it’s basically meaningless, has its beginning in a song, then connected to basketball and then the meme started with the 6-7 kid.

Achewyhamster · 21/10/2025 12:18

It wasn't that long ago all the kids at my work started saying 'my G' when they saw me (I work in retail)

I asked a sensible lot what it meant and got smirked at

So I joined in-an old (to them) lady shouting 'My G!My G!' when they walked in soon stopped them in their tracks

It'll pass

@AhBiscuits
You're late to this.
Been going on for months.

AhBiscuits · 21/10/2025 12:22

My DS's teacher has started making children stay behind for 5 minutes at lunch if they call her bruh, which has apparently has happened a few times.

I don't have young children but I googled this when I heard of it elsewhere. I mean that is actual torture have you considered leaving home till it stops 😀

Cattenberg · 21/10/2025 12:26

My seven-year-old says "bruh", which apparently has a completely different meaning to "bro" (not that I can remember what it is). She also says "sigma" and "what the sigma?" and "skibidi toilet" and she wants me to buy her a labubu.

I don't think "67" has caught on at her school yet, thankfully.

topsecretcyclist · 21/10/2025 12:29

As a Scout Leader I've had to put up with this a lot. The best way to make them stop is to join in and say them randomly. Last term my conversation with them was peppered with skibidi and sigma. They soon stopped as I was apparently cringe! 😁 I've only heard 67 a couple of times so far.

WimbyAce · 21/10/2025 12:29

I haven't heard this one yet! I did hear Skibidi toilet, still none the wiser what it was all about though!

Cattenberg · 21/10/2025 12:29

And nobody dies anymore, they "oof".

KoalaBlue1 · 21/10/2025 12:30

My grand kids tried to explain it

…. Like this or that (undecided)

yeah nah

Cattenberg · 21/10/2025 12:30

I think skibidi toilet is some meme about a man who pops his head out of a toilet. I've never seen it, though.

It - like much of the "Italian brainrot" phenomenon is fairly problematic if you look it up. LIke much of the racist, misogynists TikTok slang circulating around.

This

There was a similar thread the other day and a lot of responses said it’s just a bit of fun and they don’t know the meaning behind it. But when they are older they will and they will associate all these horrible behaviours with having a laugh.

Not this particular meme that seems to not be ‘about’ anything but ideally, if a child picks up on a misogynist meme parents should explain why it’s inappropriate and that they shouldn’t repeat things they see online that are disrespectful to women and girls.

To some degree we should try and make sure that children have access to good quality content even in the online world. Just watching anything that pops up is not gonna be great for their brains.

Edgeoutthepylon · 21/10/2025 12:32

We get a lot of ‘chopped’, or specifically ‘he’s low key chopped’

givemushypeasachance · 21/10/2025 12:32

To the 8-13yo crowd "six seven" is basically now just a funny number meme in-joke thing with no real meaning, it's funny to say it whenever a number opportunity arises. What's the next page in this book? 6-7! How many bread rolls does Sally need to buy? 6-7! When is your birthday? 6-7! Add in the hand gesture weighing up motion for extra value.
