Change of spelling in my name/Bank account

Hey guys, I was wondering if I can get some help possibly?

So I changed my name on my Halifax bank around 3 weeks ago. It was just the spelling of my first name really. As an example instead of let’s say Candy I changed it to Candie, I did not request a replacement card and neither was one sent out automatically from Halifax.

so as the current card (now with the incorrect spelling of candy) is still active, I’m confused, if I make one off purchases either online or over the phone, should I be using the name that is still on the old physical Halifax card (as I said I haven’t had a replacement card through yet) or should I use the spelling of my new name for one off purchases as that is what is on my bank account now. I have called Halifax regarding this and they can’t seem to give me a straight answer!

thank you

Did you change your name just because you wanted to, or was there an error made at the bank that you were correcting? I would order a new card with my new name on just so there is no confusion.
Have you also changed your name on everything else - passport, driving licence etc. If not, isn't there going to be hassle for you every time you want to book a flight, open a new bank account, change mortgage provider etc? If you have children then presumably the old name is on their birth certificate. Are you really sure you want all the hassle?

I would order a new card and change all of my ID to match otherwise you might find it to be problematic

I changed my name after marriage in my account but all my Id was in my maiden name no one cared. For online purchases they don’t check name of account holder ( I don’t think) but verify the digits of your address house number/ postcode.
