If you buy Halal/Kosher meat where do you buy it from?

This isn’t a debate about Halal/Kosher meat - more interested in where members of the Jewish and Muslim communities buy their meat from ie do you buy from a specialist/local butcher or main supermarket?

Erm most supermarkets round my way sell halal meat. Asda especially has a whole section for it. Not sure about kosher though.

My Muslim friends use a butcher. There isn't a halal butcher within walking distance of my house, nearest is about three miles away. I used to use one when I lived in NW London. Their meat was nicer than the British one in that area.

I'm presuming Jews do the same. But if there's a high Jewish or Muslim population in the area then the supermarkets would have a section for this as well.

Halal butchers. Usually at the back of international food shop so we shop for everything at once. They also have different meats to standard supermarkets. I buy bones for soups or hard chicken. DH enjoys unusual organs you can't ever see in standard supermarkets. Eg. Lamb testicles😂
The quality is different to asda et al too tbh.

Some supermarkets stock kosher foods online, and there are specialist delis and butchers who deliver if you don't live in a Jewish area.

We have a halal shop round the corner and several more, in the wider area. One is a bit of a drive, but cheaper and better quality. I buy mutton for boiling, or making pies.

Across the water in Gateshead, there are Jewish delicatessens and butchers, which serve the sizeable Jewish population in and around Bensham.

I don’t usually eat halal but I go to a halal butcher in the Asian supermarket as they have goat and mutton which I struggle to get anywhere else.
when I worked in Manchester there was a large Jewish community so there were several kosher butchers around
