I watched it last night and although sometimes filmed in a bit of a gimmicky way there was a very good piece which really opened my eyes.

Dr Chris Van Tulleken said we have to stop thinking of UPFs as food.
Food is designed to nourish.
UPFs are designed to maximise consumption.
They are not food, they are edible substances.

Appreciate I am late to the party amongst those who live on organic quinoa etc but as one of your bog standard eaters of convenience foods this was a bit of a revelation. It wasn’t that I didn’t know that UPFs weren’t good but I hadn’t heard it explained in such a succinct way before.

I will be making changes.

I may yet watch this. Mind you the other day I was so bored of having to think about food and meals all the time I actually considered Huel 😀

If you watch this you won’t consider Huel or any of the other protein bars. They specifically included Huel in the programme.

I read Chris’s book when it came out a while back and I’ve never eaten an IPF since! Horrifying.

Sounds interesting, thanks. What channel/platform is it on?

It was really shocking programme, to demonstrate their point they set out to create a protein bar that was as unhealthy as possible and still within legal limits for additives
