DS struggles with emotional regulation. I am getting better at de-escalating situations but we do still sometimes have total meltdowns/lashing out. I think it is mainly an anxiety issue and is also starting to affect his sleep.
We've started doing a quick bedtime yoga routine together and although it hasn't helped the night wakings, he does fall asleep more easily and I think it makes him feel better as he will now ask me to do it if I forget.
I really want to make the most of him being open minded to it at the moment and do more with him in the hope it will benefit him long term.
I've just been doing the easiest and fastest (7min) yoga routine I could find on Youtube but it's getting a bit repetitive.
Do you have any recommendations for child friendly ones? Perhaps we could even try some meditations to help him relax and calm his thoughts?
