Sofa Recommendations

We have recently moved house, and are now trying to find a big, comfortable sofa for our family (we have three boisterous under 5s and a cat). Both DH and I are fairly tall, so would love something that is supportive and durable (we’re hoping for it to last 10 years +).

DH is very keen on the Joules Patterdale from DFS (https://www.dfs.co.uk/patterdale/ptd16epdp), though I prefer this one from Cotswold Co: https://www.cotswoldco.com/sofas-and-armchairs/osbourne-chaise-large-right-hand/corner-sofa/house-linen-mix/sky-blue/. I’ve heard mixed reviews about DFS in terms of quality of durability, but happy to be corrected!

I have the Patterdale and i’m sorry but I really don’t like it. We have it in grey velvet. Have had it 3 years.

it’s extremely wide, so makes it hard to ‘sit’ on it rather than ‘lounge’ on it. It’s not at all supportive. It is a sofa you really sink in to, and not in a good way.

we have recently bought the Hygge from Sofology and absolutely love it. We have it in the heavy chenille. Have had it more than 6 months and still loving it.

I have the patterdale in the green and I’m the opposite to @Wallcarpets and our family love it. We have kids and dogs in our family and it’s easy to hoover and sponge clean if something spills on it. We did buy the more expensive cushions though so that may make a difference ? Had it two years now and it’s still gorgeous.
