Watching the traitors and her hair is not real.. cue everyone saying differently but it doesn’t even look like hair at this stage. It’s stiff, sticky and doesn’t move like normal hair..

TV that we watch isn't sequential, so she wouldn't be recording Traitors at the same time as Strictly. Traitors was recorded a few months ago. Sorry to pick up on this but it does boggle my mind little.

Well she does that anti dandruff shampoo ad so I don't think it's a wig.

I have had a heavy fringe exactly like Claud in the past so it definitely is more likely to be real. It's a deep fringe taken from quite far back, you need naturally thick hair (which she has).

Name changed for this for obvious reasons. Claudia was a mum at school at the same time as one of my DC. I can confirm that IRL she does wear that much fake tan. Her hair is definitely not a wig. She does often use the tube to get around London and you would be unlikely to recognise her as she doesn’t wear ‘look at me’ clothes, keeps herself to herself, is very slight and probably a bit shorter than you might think. DH did not recognise her at all. She’s also very lovely and always offered to get another drink/coffee/biscuit etc for whoever she was chatting with from the refreshments if she was going for herself.

I can see from last night’s episode of The Traitors why the really shiny hair might cause someone to think her hair is unreal but it’s more likely to be products, a great stylist and lighting. But even if she did, it’s not really anyone else’s business is it?

She has to use the tan because her hair is so black it would drain her. Jet black dyed hair is never flattering

I can't remember if it was on Strictly or Traitors, but there was definitely one show this week where her hair very obviously was a wig - it didn't fall like hair across her shoulders, it looked plasticy and stiff.

Must performers use wigs and extensions, so it wouldn't be a surprise. Maybe it used to be her natural hair but she got fed up with maintaining it as she got older?

But I have to say, people really need to be less gullible. Just because an article in a tabloid says she doesn't wear wigs, or she loves H&S, doesn't mean it's true!

She's older than me definitely a wig, the way the light is on it too can tell it's a wig!

Badly worded I mean I have similar thick dark hair and despite HRT it will never look as it did a few years ago and I can see the temptation to wear a wig if your hair is your income, although I doubt she'll get any shampoo ads going forward as it has become v obvious it is a wig.

Orthodox Jewish women in some communities wear wigs. Claudia is Jewish but not Orthodox, her mum (and I think dad) were not from Orthodox communities. Reform/non Orthodox jews are no more likely to wear wigs than Christian or Muslim or Atheist women.

This makes sense! I’ve always been baffled by her horrible hairstyle. Surely she can’t be happy to look like that - she’s very attractive. Google ‘young Claudia Winkleman’ and you’ll see what I mean!

I think it’s a clever tactic. It’s a bold (if unflattering) statement look which she can then ditch in her private life and go around unnoticed by the hoi polloi.

I don’t think her hair is a wig and I reckon she may use head and shoulders but I think it’s so shiny because she dyes / glosses it so regularly.
