Does no one fail the driving test these days?

Every single person I know this year and last has passed their tests. First time.
That would be unheard off back in the day. I know it’s anecdotal but so was hearing of kids having to retake.

Are computer games sharpening reflexes, driving instructors better or tests easier?

Aside from the actual statistics that show how many people fail my anecdotal experience agrees that not everyone passes first time

Imagine how easy it would be to book a test if that were the case 😀

You don't hear about the fails because no one posts about failing their driving test on social media.

Yup, this.

My DS has just passed, it was his second test. Nerves floored him the first time and despite the stereotype not all young men are 'boy racer' types or 'petrol heads' 🙄
He is still quite nervous but has driven to work and back on his own so he's getting there.
I also vehemently disagree that driving standards are going down, there are more powerful, large cars on the road than any other time in history. There isn't enough room for everything/everyone using the road and more accidents will happen due to sheer volume of traffic (and the same percentage of dick heads there have always been! ). We just have less margin for error than ever before.

DD1 passed two weeks ago..her 4th attempt. No minors on her 3rd but one silly mistake due to nerves. Her pass centre has just a 37-40% pass rate..2nd hardest in the UK. I know of very very few who passed first time!
