Gallivant · 15/10/2025 20:13

Health, or health related, i.e. All about your struggles to get a GP appointment and how you had to ring the consultant's secretary and ooh no one's given you your scan results yet and how you always take the park and ride to the hospital because the parking is extortionate and the bus drops you off right outside and you should have seen the state of the waiting area...SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP

All of this
Weather
Politics
Cricket

Cornishclio · 15/10/2025 21:35

Immigrants
american politics at the moment
transgender issues

AngelinaFibres · 15/10/2025 21:35

Anything where the person is being a martyr and could make their life so much better by saying ' I'm sorry but I'm not going to be able to run that/ make that/ give any tiny amount of my time to that'. The world will turn without you and your saintly contribution. It doesn't make them like you. In fact they probably think you are a twat.

RobustPastry · 15/10/2025 21:37

People who ‘don’t talk about politics’. So complacent. Lowers my opinion of them for good.

wheresmymojo · 15/10/2025 20:55

How people drove to the venue
How people plan to drive to a venue
Questions about my plans to drive to a venue

My eyes glaze over immediately - like who the fuck cares whether you took the M25 or the A30 or what junction you came off at?

I agree but I find many men love having this conversation.

Mine are largely what people here have said. Dreams, holidays, anything that people talk about for a long time - my friend tells me in great detail about her OH’s job/plans to get a new job - which is very very dull.

RobustPastry · 15/10/2025 21:38

What home improvements you are planning. Unbelievably boring for anyone who doesn’t live there. I love hearing about people’s holidays though!

VoltaireMittyDream · 15/10/2025 21:39

Food
Baking
Crafting
Board games
Popular culture, as I have no idea who anyone is anymore and all music sounds the same and all young celebrities look the same, because I’ve turned into my parents 😭

Also Roblox

AngelinaFibres · 15/10/2025 21:43

Air source/ ground source heat pumps. I don't care. If my house was suitable for one I still wouldn't spend the thousands of pounds necessary to rip out my oil boiler, oil tank, 2 woodburning stoves and all the radiators and pipework in my big Victoian house. I'm not doing any part of that do STFU

JasmineTea11 · 15/10/2025 21:46

All of mine have been said, so won't repeat, but this thread's great! People are so often tedious aren't they. I often feel mean for thinking this, but now feel validated.

AngelinaFibres · 15/10/2025 21:49

Cooking from scratch. Sometimes I do and sometimes I have a large lump of Davidstow cheddar and a bag of frazzles with a cup of tea and fall asleep in front of Pointless .
Baking. If I baked I would eat cake at 10.30 and 2.30 every day and I'd get fat. I don't want to be fat so I don't often buy cake and I certainly don't bake it.
It doesn't make you a more worthy person because you do that.

pictoosh · 15/10/2025 21:53

Other people's dreams - omg I don't care.

Sunflower3000 · 15/10/2025 21:58

Fashion. Yawniest of all the yawns.

UtterlyOtterly · 15/10/2025 22:00

TV programmes
Health, or lack of it
Cats and dogs
Dreams
Diets

pictoosh · 15/10/2025 22:02

Any woo chat, be it ghosts, crystals, horoscopes, tarot cards...whatever.
'Psychics' and 'mediums'.
If you find comfort or meaning in that stuff it's not for me to tell you not to but don't come at me with it and expect to be taken seriously. I'm either changing the subject or leaving.

softstone · 15/10/2025 22:04

Anyone talking about ADHD. I get it - you’re ‘different’.

Happyhousehappyheart · 15/10/2025 22:11

Woo stuff especially Manifesting or Asking the Universe
Any sport whatsoever
Apple Watch or any tech gadgets
Step count for the day
How drunk they were - we’re not 22 any more
Calories and diets and weight loss
Immigration to the UK
What Trump said today

SpottyAardvark · 15/10/2025 22:11

I say this with feeling… Horses.

DP’s family are all very horsey. They all learned to tack up & ride before they could walk & speak. As anyone familiar with horses knows, they are all-consuming. And horsey people speak a language all of their own. So when horses are the only subject his family talk about it can feel excluding as well as incomprehensible and extremely boring.

pictoosh · 15/10/2025 22:12

Step count for the day - that seems to have died down a bit now thank god.
Was a popular but tedious topic of chat for a while there.

labamba18 · 15/10/2025 22:18

Weight
fashion
soaps (as in the tv)
other people’s holidays

Mydoglovescheese · 15/10/2025 22:25

My friend talking about her son’s divorce and her ‘evil’ ex DIL

Bishopstail · 15/10/2025 22:36

I thought if another one. Football.

Jollyjoy · 15/10/2025 22:38

For me I can’t really think of any topics I particularly hate, but when someone takes very long turns or wants to talk in great depth about one topic for a long time - hate that. Causes arguments between DH and I sometimes but I tell him to go and find some other similarly analytical and detailed male to pore over things with. We are such sex stereotypes. I want to talk about people and feelings. I looooove birth stories, some of you would hate me 😂

pictoosh · 15/10/2025 22:42

This is a work thing - when other people turn a drama into a crisis and make a lot of noise about very little.
I work in the most toxic place imaginable. Absolute bitchfest. So much petty, combative nonsense being spouted left, right and centre. They remind me of a gaggle of hens burbling and pecking at the ground.

I actually really enjoy my job. I have had to learn to tune it all out. Smile and nod, smile and nod.

Eta: So to summarise; workplace gossip.

Wonderwoman333 · 15/10/2025 22:42

Weight and diets- so boring
Nails
beauty treatments or spa days
Trump
Weaning/toileting
