I hate it when someone asks me to guess how much something cost, or the age of somebody. I know they are asking because they think I'll answer in a particular way, and I have no idea what they want me to say. Just tell me without playing a game with it!

Anyone who thinks Covid is something to be worried about, mind you people like that annoyed me five years ago.

OfKitten · 15/10/2025 16:42

Yes to dreams. what's some people's obsession with talking about their dreams? So annoying.

GreenSmithing · 15/10/2025 16:46

The people who enjoy talking about dreams need to find the other people who like talking about dreams to have those conversations.

TheTortiePuffinNeedsHerBreakfast · 15/10/2025 16:49

Business tips
Pensions or mortgages
Gyms/health clubs

DirtyBird · 15/10/2025 16:55

Dreams
People's vacations/holidays
Politics (because I don't know much about it)

Lamelie · 15/10/2025 16:57

Blimey, I can’t believe no one’s said schools.
There are women I could bump into after a five year gap and without drawing breath they’d update me on the latest tests, changes and exams.
London selective. So pleased to be out of it.

EmShire · 15/10/2025 17:02

People banging on about their jobs using specific jargon can be a bit boring.

FranticFrankie · 15/10/2025 17:06

Dreams
Money, pensions, investments etc etc
People's holidays (and photos)
Reality TV

Bishopstail · 15/10/2025 17:06

Running, speeding tickets, retirement saving, dogs, general boasting about how much money you have.

HollyhockDays · 15/10/2025 17:07

Weight - I’m a secret jabber
The Economy- I don’t really understand how it works
Most stuff my boss talks at me about

Comedycook · 15/10/2025 17:08

Yes agree

sloshis · 15/10/2025 17:16

One of my friends was a real mum-bore from newborn to about 2. I know that sounds really unkind but she just seemed to lose all personality and every conversation was about/or steered back to baby’s nappy contents and other mundane things. I was a new mum too and was just as excited and happy - it really was excessive and…boring.

Gruffporcupine · 15/10/2025 17:18

Palestine. Just give it a rest

CurbsideProphet · 15/10/2025 17:24

This is specific to work colleagues who I only see 4 times per year - any discussion about being "greedy" for eating one's lunch / how little lunch they usually eat. I really couldn't care less for competitive non eating.

LittleBitofBread · 15/10/2025 17:26

Traffic/roads/best route/the new bypass and how it means you have to take a 2-minute detour etc etc.

Love a bit of celeb gossip and telly chat though, and don't mind dreams chat.

Goldenboysmum · 15/10/2025 17:29

Christmas
Sport
Politics

Moominmoko · 15/10/2025 17:32

Babies sleep.

Having had 5 babies I know it's all just luck really and they all sleep eventually. Hearing endless stories about different techniques and theories is just so bloody dull.

HeddaGarbled · 15/10/2025 17:32

TV shows or films I didn’t watch (which is most of them). I didn’t watch them for a reason.

Your vegetable soup recipe. I’m never going to make it.

TheJustJoker · 15/10/2025 17:37

Sport, of any ilk.

SwedishEdith · 15/10/2025 17:39

Diets/weird eating regimes.
Gym and fitness routines.
People telling you where they've been and never asking about where you've been.
Anything they've read from the Daily Mail - "statistics" about asylum seekers, that type of thing.
Disney
Katy Perry type concerts - those dull, interchangeable mainstream acts - and how "amazing" they were.

WildJoy · 15/10/2025 17:40

Strictly
Cars
Golf
Flags
Micros
Macros
Christmas
Air fryers

MotherofPearl · 15/10/2025 19:30

Other people’s dreams

Gallivant · 15/10/2025 20:13

Health, or health related, i.e. All about your struggles to get a GP appointment and how you had to ring the consultant's secretary and ooh no one's given you your scan results yet and how you always take the park and ride to the hospital because the parking is extortionate and the bus drops you off right outside and you should have seen the state of the waiting area...SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP
