18th birthday ideas

My DS is going to be 18 soon, doesn't want a party but thinking of bringing a group of friends to London to do something and maybe stay over. Has anyone got any ideas of fun/cool/trendy activities (e.g. something like Flight club maybe)? What is a cool thing to do in London for 17/18 year olds at the moment? Which bars/restaurants are trendy at the moment for that age group? Something instagramable (is that a word? ;)) And any ideas of places to stay over night?

Can't he just google the fun things? At 17 he'd know what was cool and trendy, far more effectively than any of us. I doubt cool and trendy are even words teenagers use these days.

As some of his friends were 17 and not able to get into or drink in bars/restaurants ds just did something at home (we were consigned to the bedroom for the night with, door firmly shut, snacks and earplugs - he did bring me up some pizza and cake). It was more important to him to include all his friends and it just didn’t seem possible while some were 17.

They did the bars/restaurants for subsequent birthdays when all could go.

Yes that would be a possible issue, as some of his friends are still 17...Looks like they can stay in a hotel as long as someone in the group is 18 though so that bit should be doable. Alternatively we may do a family trip to London and go to a nice restaurant and he can also go out locally with his friends. Just thinking through the options at this stage
