Selling on Etsy

Out of interest, if there any sellers on Etsy out there, how do you find their charges?

I don’t sell much but when I do, I can’t believe how much they deduct and wonder if I am doing something wrong 🤔

I sell both on Etsy and my own website. I find the charges on Etsy quite unpalatable, even though I know I don't have to pay hosting or domain charges.

It's why people have higher listing prices on Etsy and usually lower prices on their personal website.

If you're taking less home than the time and cost of materials it takes to make the item, or not getting a big enough return for your time, then it's time to raise your prices.

I sell on Etsy.
Google Etsy fee calculator
You just put in selling price, post charged, your postage cost, what the item cost to you and it works out the fees for you so helps you decide on the right price to sell and your profit margin
Do you only sell to the UK.
If selling further a field the fees are higher. Also if someone comes to your shop through Etsy adds and they purchase something within 30 days I think there is an extra fee for that too.
