How long are people waiting for an urgent mental health appointment?

Ds has been waiting months for an urgent mental health appointment with the mental health services. He's autistic and suicidal. He's on antidepressants which are kind of working, but he needs an assessment for bpd as he's very unstable and prone to being impulsive. He attends the local university which is just a few miles away from us. He insists on living in halls for his independence, but we support him with daily living activities. His depression centres around difficulties making friends and coping with other people. I wait every morning to see if he's okay. I'm not coping very well and it's making me ill.

The GP said she'd chase up the appointment. They did phone him with a telephone triage but cancelled that on the day as they had an emergency. They didn't phone him to tell him, he had to phone up. I don't know what to do.

56 weeks in our trust for an initial appointment unless you are triaged as an emergency

Dont forget you can ring 111 press 2 while you wait if things become more urgent
