I've been struggling with low mood for quite some time now and it's getting worse. Almost ready to see my GP but anxious about it and have been putting it off,
What should I expect at the appointment? I'm In England.

They will likely do a questionnaire about your mood, how often you feel certain ways, have you considered harming yourself etc. Then depending on the outcome of that they may recommend trying an antidepressant and/or referring you to a talking therapy.

The first appointment is the hardest but so worthwhile, good luck

Oh and they may send you for blood tests to check for any potential physical causes like diabetes, underacrive thyroid.

Go for it. What PP described is exactly it.

They also referred me for 6 sessions of talking therapy, as well as discussing anti depressants.

They also asked me to get some blood tests done.

Go for it. Be honest.
