What really good and useful free apps do you use?

I only really have a diary app that I forget to use, a solitaire game and Calm that I also barely use, as Alexa plays sleep sounds for me.

Podcast app ?
Do.you have a photograph editing app i.e.to make pictures into black and white and change the lines shadows sharpness etc not one for facial filters ?
Itv x
Sky news app
My son has a rock and insect ( I think) identifies them and also has knowledge regarding each rock or insect /bug
Any specific kind of apps ? I mean like games ? Some that you can watch things on or via ? Things you can do ? Hope this helps a bit xxxx

I don't have a photo editing app, no. Can you recommend one?

I'm not really looking for games, just things people find useful, hoping I might also find them useful!

I don't listen to podcasts, never really find the time, although I keep meaning to.

I've tried a night sky one, but didn't really get on with it, I couldn't get the hang of where I was meant to be pointing it.

Waze - Sat nav app

Alexa - assuming you don’t have it already. I (talk to my echo dot in the kitchen) add to shopping list items as I use them up and check them off on the lists on my phone as I go round the supermarket.
I also created a basics list, which I use every week to restock. This list is split into sections in order of walking round usual supermarket (fresh produce, fridge, store cupboard, freezer, household).

Shazam - music identification.

IMDb - for all those actors you cant quite remember their name but know they were in something. Great movie trivia too.

Dictionary - obvs

i have tons of apps but these are my most used after things like banking, weather, work apps etc.

hth 🙂

BBC Sounds - you can listen to anything from Just A Minute, Desert Island Discs or Womans Hour whenever you like.

If you like birds then merlin will help identify by photo or sound, fairly accurate but not always.

Copy Me That - it's a recipe app. Can be used to import recipes from websites, or create your own. You can organise recipes into categories, and it has a meal planning function and a shopping list function.

Super Chinese - because I'm trying to learn Chinese and that is the best free app for that.
