I bought one of these for my son on a recommendation I read on MN thread. It arrived today and I cannot understand it at all. I have put water in it and tried drinking from it while pressing the button, presuming that us what you are supposed to do. The water just goes all over including out of the sides, beyond my lips, and I ended up with wet patches all over my shirt, if it had been hot coffee it would have been a disaster. Am I doing something wrong? I am packing it up right now to send it back as it is terrible, have I made some sort of mistake?

This doesn’t sound right. Could you check that the top is screwed on correctly. I had something similar when I had not closed the top tightly.

once you have that the the button switches between locked id won’t leak whatever you do or open which means you can press the button to drink from the opening

easier to show you than describe. Hope that helps.

Please ignore, I had it back to front. I feel very stupid now! (Thanks YouTube, why didn't I go there first?!)

Which one is it? We have a couple of Contigo’s and they’re great. I don’t know anything about the other designs though.

Oh God, that’s like something I’d do😂😂 Glad it’s sorted!

I am going to have to keep it for myself though, my son is very dyspraxic and won't be able to drink while pressing a button at the same time. So I have a nice travel mug! I will get him another one.

Contigo also do one with with a little flip up to reveal the drinking bit. I think I looked at yours failed to grasp how it all worked and bought the simple one. It was a few quid cheaper too at TKMaxx

Asda have the Contigo Byron reduced at the moment depending on the colour. The lid on that just flips up and is easy to operate.

He really needs the kind with a little flip up straw bit, I realise now
